Pray for the Grace of Self-Denial and Humility

I must pray for the grace of self-denial.

Lord, give me grace to deny myself, to take up my cross daily, and to follow Christ; Matthew 16:24(NASB) to discipline my body and make it my slave. 1 Corinthians 9:27(NASB)

Lord, keep me from being a lover of self, 2 Timothy 3:2(NASB) from being wise in my own eyes and leaning on my own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-7(NASB)

Lord, give me to seek, not my own good only, but also that of my neighbor. 1 Corinthians 10:24(NASB)

And grant that I may not live for myself or die for myself, but whether I live or die, I may be the Lord’s, and may live and die for Him. Romans 14:7-8(NASB)

I must pray for humility and meekness.

Lord, give me to learn from Christ to be gentle and humble in heart, that I may find rest for my soul; Matthew 11:29(NASB) and that herein the same attitude may be in me which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5(NASB)

Lord, keep pride from me, Job 33:17(NASB) and clothe me with humility; 1 Peter 5:5(NASB) and put upon me the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in Your sight is precious. 1 Peter 3:4(NASB)

Lord, give me grace to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which I have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for others in love. Ephesians 4:1-2(NASB)

Let anger never reside in my bosom, Ecclesiastes 7:9(NASB) nor the sun ever go down on my anger; Ephesians 4:26(NASB) but enable me to show every consideration for all men, because I also was once foolish and disobedient myself. Titus 3:2-3(NASB)

Let me be clothed as becomes one who has been chosen of God, holy and beloved, with a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, Colossians 3:12(NASB) that being merciful, just as my heavenly Father is merciful, Luke 6:36(NASB) I may be perfect as He is perfect. Matthew 5:48(NASB)
