I must pray for grace to direct and quicken me to, and to strengthen and assist me in, my duty, in the whole course of my conversation.
Let the grace of God, which hath appeared to me and to all men, bringing salvation, effectually teach me to deny all ungodliness and worldly, fleshly lusts, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and my Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave himself for his people, that he might redeem them from all iniquity and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
