Pray for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Lands

Intercession 5.1 | KJV

For the propagating of the gospel in foreign parts and the enlargement of the church by the bringing in of many to it.

O let the gospel be preached unto every creature; Mark 16:15(KJV) for how shall men believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without preachers? And how shall they preach except they be sent? Romans 10:14-15(KJV) And who shall send forth labourers but the Lord of the harvest? Matthew 9:38(KJV)

Let the people which sit in darkness see a great light, and to them which sit in the regions and shadow of death, let light spring up. Matthew 4:16(KJV)

Add unto thy church daily such as shall be saved; Acts 2:47(KJV) enlarge the place of its tents, lengthen its cords, and strengthen its stakes. Isaiah 54:2(KJV)

Bring thy seed from the east and gather them from the west; say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Keep not back: bring thy sons from far, and thy daughters from the ends of the earth. Isaiah 43:5-6(KJV) Let them come with acceptance to thine altar, and glorify the house of thy glory; let them fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows. Isaiah 60:7-8(KJV)

In every place let incense be offered to thy name and pure offerings; and from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, let thy name be great among the Gentiles, Malachi 1:11(KJV) and let the offering up of the Gentiles be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:16(KJV)

O let the earth be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:9(KJV)

Introduction and Exhortation to Pray for the Whole Lost World of Mankind

Intercession 5.0 | KJV

The Lord Jesus has taught us to pray, not only with, but for others; and the apostle has appointed us to make supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18(KJV) and many of his prayers in his epistles are for his friends. And we must not think that when we are in this part of prayer, we may let fall our fervency and be more indifferent because we ourselves are not immediately concerned in it; but rather, let a holy fire of love, both to God and man, here make our devotion yet more warm and lively.

We must pray for the whole world of mankind, the lost world; and thus, we must honor everyone, 1 Peter 2:17(KJV) and, according to our capacity, do good to everyone. Galatians 6:10(KJV)

I pray, as I am taught, for all men, believing that this is good and acceptable in the sight of God my Saviour, who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth and of Jesus Christ, 1 Timothy 2:3-4(KJV) who gave himself a ransom for all. 1 Timothy 2:6(KJV)

O look with compassion upon the world that lies in wickedness, 1 John 5:19(KJV) and let the prince of this world be cast out, John 12:31(KJV) that has blinded their minds. 2 Corinthians 4:4(KJV)

O let thy way be known upon earth, Psalm 67:2(KJV) that barbarous nations may be civilized, and those that live without God in the world may be brought to the service of the living God; Ephesians 2:12(KJV) and thus, let thy saving health be known unto all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; yea, let all the people praise thee: O let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon earth. Psalm 67:2-4(KJV)

O let thy salvation and thy righteousness be openly showed in the sight of the heathen, and let all the ends of the earth see the salvation of God. Psalm 98:2-3(KJV)

O give thy Son the heathen for his inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for his possession; Psalm 2:8(KJV) for thou hast said, It is a light thing for him to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel, but thou wilt give him for a light to the Gentiles. Isaiah 49:6(KJV)

Let all the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of the Lord and of his Christ. Revelation 11:15(KJV)

Thank God for the Performance of His Promises

Thanksgiving 4.41 | KJV

For the performance of God’s promises.

Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word, Psalm 119:65(KJV) and thou hast been ever mindful of thy covenant, the word which thou hast commanded to a thousand generations. Psalm 105:8(KJV)

There hath not failed one word of all the good promise, 1 Kings 8:56(KJV) which thou hast promised to David thy servant and Israel thy people. 1 Kings 8:66(KJV)

And now, what shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits towards me? Psalm 116:12(KJV) Let my soul return to him and repose in him as its rest, because he hath dealt bountifully with me: Psalm 116:7(KJV) I will take the cup of my salvation and call upon the name of the Lord; Psalm 116:13(KJV) for the Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100:5(KJV)

I will bless the Lord at all times, yea, his praise shall continually be in my mouth; Psalm 34:1(KJV) I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live; Psalm 104:33(KJV) and I hope to be shortly with those blessed ones who dwell in his house above and are still praising him and who rest not day or night from saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Revelation 4:8(KJV)

Thank God for Support Under your Afflictions

Thanksgiving 4.40 | KJV

For support under my afflictions, and spiritual benefit and advantage by them.

Thou hast comforted me in all my tribulation; 2 Corinthians 1:4(KJV) hast considered my trouble, and known my soul in adversity, Psalm 31:7(KJV) and showed me thy marvellous kindness, as in a strong city. Psalm 31:21(KJV)

When afflictions have abounded, consolations have much more abounded. 2 Corinthians 1:5(KJV)

Though no afflictions for the present have been joyous, but grievous; nevertheless, afterwards it hath yielded the peaceable fruit of righteousness, and hath proved to be for my profit, that I might be a partaker of thy holiness. Hebrews 12:10-11(KJV)

I have had reason to say that it was good for me I was afflicted, that I might learn thy commandments; Psalm 119:71(KJV) for before I was afflicted I went astray, but afterwards have kept thy word. Psalm 119:67(KJV)

It has been but for a season and when there was need, that I have been in heaviness, through manifold temptations; and I beg that all the trials of my faith may be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, I love, in whom, though I now see him not, yet believing, I rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, and am longing to receive the end of my faith, even the salvation of my soul. 1 Peter 1:6-9(KJV)

Thank God for Gracious Answers to your Prayers

Thanksgiving 4.39 | KJV

For gracious answers to my prayers.

I have reason to love thee, O Lord, because thou hast heard the voice of my supplications, Psalm 130:2(KJV) and because thou hast inclined thine ear unto me; I will therefore call upon thee as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2(KJV)

Out of the depths I have called unto thee, O Lord, Psalm 130:1(KJV) and thou hast heard my vows and given me the heritage of those that fear thy name. Psalm 61:5(KJV)

Nay, before I have called, thou hast answered; and while I have been yet speaking, thou hast heard, Isaiah 65:24(KJV) and hast said, Here I am, Isaiah 58:9(KJV) and hast been nigh unto me in all that which I call unto thee for. Deuteronomy 4:7(KJV)

Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble; thou wilt prepare their heart and cause thine ear to hear. Psalm 10:17(KJV)

Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer or his mercy from me; Psalm 66:20(KJV) for I have prayed and have gone away, and my countenance has been no more sad. 1 Samuel 1:18(KJV)

Thank God for Sweet Communion with Him in Holy Ordinances

Thanksgiving 4.38 | KJV

For sweet communion with God in holy ordinances, and the communications of his favour.

I have been abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house, and thou hast made me drink of the river of thy pleasures: for with thee is the fountain of life; in thy light I shall see light. Psalm 36:8-9(KJV)

Thou hast brought me to thy holy mountain and made me joyful in thy house of prayer; Isaiah 56:7(KJV) and I found it good for me to draw near to God. Psalm 73:28(KJV)

I have reason to say that a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, and that it is better to be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness; for the Lord God is a sun and shield; he will give grace and glory, and no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly: O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. Psalm 84:10-12(KJV)

I have sitten down under thy shadow with delight, and thy fruit hath been sweet unto my taste; thou hast brought me into the banqueting house, and thy banner over me has been love. Song of Solomon 2:3-4(KJV)

Thank God for the Powerful Influences of Divine Grace

Thanksgiving 4.37 | KJV

For the powerful influences of divine grace to sanctify and preserve me, to prevent my falling into sin, and to strengthen me in doing my duty.

Thou hast not quenched the smoking flax, nor broke the bruised reed, Matthew 12:20(KJV) nor despised the day of small things; Zechariah 4:10(KJV) but having obtained help of God, I continue hitherto. Acts 26:22(KJV)

In the day when I cried thou answered me, and hast strengthened me with strength in my soul. Psalm 138:3(KJV)

I have been continually with thee, thou hast holden me by the right hand, Psalm 73:23(KJV) when my feet were almost gone, and my steps had well nigh slipped. Psalm 73:2(KJV)

I have reason never to forget thy precepts, for by them thou hast quickened me; and unless thy law had been my delight, I should many a time have perished in my affliction; Psalm 119:92-93(KJV) for thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. Psalm 119:54(KJV)

Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence: But when I said, My foot slippeth, thy mercy, O Lord, held me up; and in the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts have been the delight of my soul. Psalm 94:17-19(KJV)

Thank God for the Remission of Sins and Peace of Conscience

Thanksgiving 4.36 | KJV

I must give thanks for the remission of my sins and the peace of my conscience.

I bless thee for the redemption I have through Christ’s blood, even the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of thy grace, wherein thou hast abounded towards me. Ephesians 1:7-8(KJV)

That thou hast forgiven all my iniquities and healed all my diseases; Psalm 103:3(KJV) and hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. Isaiah 38:17(KJV)

When thou broughtest me into the wilderness, yet there thou spakest comfortably to me, and gavest me my vineyard from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope. Hosea 2:14-15(KJV)

Thank God for Every Spirit-Wrought Inward Change

Thanksgiving 4.35 | KJV

I must bless God if there be a saving change wrought in me by his blessed Spirit.

And hath God by his grace translated me out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear Son? Colossians 1:13(KJV) Hath he called me into fellowship of Jesus Christ, 1 Corinthians 1:9(KJV) and made me nigh by his blood who by nature was afar off? Ephesians 2:13(KJV) Not unto myself, O Lord, not unto myself, but unto thy name I give glory. Psalm 115:1(KJV)

I give thanks to God always for those to whom the gospel is come, not in word only, but in power and the Holy Ghost and in much assurance. 1 Thessalonians 1:5(KJV)

Thou hast loved me with an everlasting love, and therefore with loving-kindness thou hast drawn me, Jeremiah 31:3(KJV) drawn me with the cords of a man and the bands of love. Hosea 11:4(KJV)

When the strong man armed kept his palace in my heart, and his goods were in peace, it was a stronger than he that came upon him, and took from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divided the spoil. Luke 11:21-22(KJV)

Thank God for the Hope of Eternal Life and for the Work of the Spirit within you

Thanksgiving 4.34 | KJV

For the prospect and hope of eternal life, when time shall be no more.

I thank thee for the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love him; James 1:12(KJV) the inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for me. 1 Peter 1:4(KJV)

That having here no continuing city, Hebrews 13:14(KJV) I am encouraged to seek the better country, that is, the heavenly; Hebrews 11:16(KJV) the city that hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 11:10(KJV)

That I am in hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, hath promised; Titus 1:2(KJV) and that all true believers, through grace, Acts 18:27(KJV) have eternal life abiding in them. 1 John 3:15(KJV)

2dly, I must give God thanks for the spiritual mercies bestowed upon me in particular, especially if I am called with an effectual call and have a good work of grace begun in me.

I must bless God for the striving of his Spirit with me, and the admonitions and checks of my own conscience.

I bless thee that thou hast not given me over to a reprobate mind; Romans 1:28(KJV) that my conscience is not seared; 1 Timothy 4:2(KJV) that thou hast not said concerning me, He is joined to an idol, let him alone; Hosea 4:17(KJV) but that thy Spirit is yet striving with me. Genesis 6:3(KJV)

I thank thee for the work of the law written in my heart, my own conscience also bearing witness, and my own thoughts between themselves accusing or excusing one another. Romans 2:15(KJV)
