Pray for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Lands

Intercession 5.1 | NASB

For the propagation of the gospel in foreign parts and the enlargement of the church by the bringing in of many to it.

O let the gospel be preached to all creation; Mark 16:15(NASB) for how will men believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without preachers? And how will they preach unless they are sent? Romans 10:14-15(NASB) And who will send out workers but the Lord of the harvest? Matthew 9:38(NASB)

Let the people who are sitting in darkness see a great light, and upon those who are sitting in the land and shadow of death, let a light dawn. Matthew 4:16(NASB)

Add to Your church day by day those who are being saved; Acts 2:47(NASB) enlarge the place of its tent, lengthen its cords, and strengthen its pegs. Isaiah 54:2(NASB)

Bring Your offspring from the east and gather them from the west; say to the north, “Give them up!” And to the south, “Do not hold them back”: Bring Your sons from afar and Your daughters from the ends of the earth. Isaiah 43:5-6(NASB) Let them go with acceptance to Your altar, and glorify Your glorious house; let them fly like a cloud, and like the doves to their lattices. Isaiah 60:7-8(NASB)

In every place let incense be offered to Your name and offerings that are pure; and from the rising of the sun even to its setting, let Your name be great among the nations, Malachi 1:11(NASB) and let the offering of the Gentiles be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:16(NASB)

O let the earth be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:9(NASB)

Introduction and Exhortation to Pray for the Whole Lost World of Mankind

Intercession 5.0 | NASB

The Lord Jesus has taught us to pray, not only with, but for others; and the apostle has appointed us to make supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18(NASB) and many of his prayers in his epistles are for his friends. And we must not think that when we are in this part of prayer, we may let fall our fervency and be more indifferent because we ourselves are not immediately concerned in it; but rather, let a holy fire of love, both to God and man, here make our devotion yet more warm and lively.

We must pray for the whole world of mankind, the lost world; and thus, we must honor everyone, 1 Peter 2:17(NASB) and, according to our capacity, do good to everyone. Galatians 6:10(NASB)

I pray, as I am taught, for all men, believing that this is good and acceptable in the sight of God my Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth and of Jesus Christ, 1 Timothy 2:3-4(NASB) who gave Himself as a ransom for all. 1 Timothy 2:6(NASB)

O look with compassion upon the world that lies in the power of the evil one, 1 John 5:19(NASB) and let the ruler of this world be cast out, John 12:31(NASB) who has blinded their minds. 2 Corinthians 4:4(NASB)

O let Your way be known on the earth, Psalm 67:2(NASB) that barbarous nations may be civilized, and those who live without God in the world may be brought to the service of the living God; Ephesians 2:12(NASB) and thus, let Your salvation be known among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; yes, let all the peoples praise You: O let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for You will judge the peoples with uprightness and guide the nations on the earth. Psalm 67:2-4(NASB)

O let Your salvation and Your righteousness be revealed in the sight of the nations, and let all the ends of the earth see the salvation of God. Psalm 98:2-3(NASB)

O give Your Son the nations as His inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as His possession; Psalm 2:8(NASB) for You have said, “It is too small a thing for Him to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel”; but You will make Him a light of the nations. Isaiah 49:6(NASB)

Let the kingdoms of the world become the kingdom of the Lord and of His Christ. Revelation 11:15(NASB)

Thank God for the Performance of His Promises

Thanksgiving 4.41 | NASB

For the performance of God’s promises.

You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word, Psalm 119:65(NASB) and You have been ever mindful of Your covenant, the word which You have commanded to a thousand generations. Psalm 105:8(NASB)

Not one word has failed of all Your good promise, 1 Kings 8:56(NASB) which You have promised to David Your servant and to Israel Your people. 1 Kings 8:66(NASB)

And now, what shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me? Psalm 116:12 (NASB) Let my soul return to Him and repose in Him as its rest, because He has dealt bountifully with me: Psalm 116:7(NASB) I will lift up the cup of my salvation and call upon the name of the LORD; Psalm 116:13(NASB) for the LORD is good, His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5(NASB)

I will bless the LORD at all times; yes, His praise shall continually be in my mouth; Psalm 34:1(NASB) I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; Psalm 104:33(NASB) and I hope to be shortly with those blessed ones who dwell in His house above and are still praising Him and who day and night do not cease to say, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY.” Revelation 4:8(NASB)

Thank God for Support Under your Afflictions

Thanksgiving 4.40 | NASB

For support under my afflictions, and spiritual benefit and advantage by them.

You have comforted me in all my affliction, 2 Corinthians 1:4(NASB) have seen my affliction and known the troubles of my soul; Psalm 31:7(NASB) You have made marvelous Your steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city. Psalm 31:21(NASB)

When afflictions have abounded, comforts have much more abounded. 2 Corinthians 1:5(NASB)

Though all discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it has yielded the peaceful fruit of righteousness, and has proved to be for my good, so that I might share Your holiness. Hebrews 12:10-11(NASB)

I have had reason to say that it was good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes; Psalm 119:71(NASB) for before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. Psalm 119:67(NASB)

It has been but for a little while, and when it was necessary, that I was distressed by various trials; and I beg that all the trials of my faith may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ, Whom, though I have not seen, I love; though I do not see Him now, yet I believe in Him and greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, and am longing to obtain the outcome of my faith, the salvation of my soul. 1 Peter 1:6-9(NASB)

Thank God for Gracious Answers to your Prayers

Thanksgiving 4.39 | NASB

For gracious answers to my prayers.

I have reason to love You, O LORD, because You have heard the voice of my supplications, Psalm 130:2(NASB) and because You have inclined Your ear to me; I will therefore call upon You as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2(NASB)

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD, Psalm 130:1(NASB) and You have heard my vows and given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name. Psalm 61:5(NASB)

Indeed, before I have called, You have answered; and while I have been still speaking, You have heard, Isaiah 65:24(NASB) and have said, “Here I am,” Isaiah 58:9(NASB) and have been near to me whenever I call on You. Deuteronomy 4:7(NASB)

LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, and incline Your ear to hear. Psalm 10:17(NASB)

Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer nor His lovingkindness from me; Psalm 66:20(NASB) for I have prayed and have gone away, and my face has been no longer sad. 1 Samuel 1:18(NASB)

Thank God for Sweet Communion with Him in Holy Ordinances

Thanksgiving 4.38 | NASB

For sweet communion with God in holy ordinances, and the communications of His favor.

I have drunk my fill of the abundance of Your house, and You have given me drink of the river of Your delights: for with You is the fountain of life; in Your light I see light. Psalm 36:8-9(NASB)

You have brought me to Your holy mountain and made me joyful in Your house of prayer; Isaiah 56:7(NASB) and I have found that for me the nearness of God is my good. Psalm 73:28(NASB)

I have reason to say that a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside, and that it is better to stand at the threshold of the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness; for the LORD God is a sun and shield; He gives grace and glory, and no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly: O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You! Psalm 84:10-12(NASB)

In Your shade I have taken great delight and sat down, and Your fruit has been sweet to my taste; You have brought me to Your banquet hall, and Your banner over me has been love. Song of Solomon 2:3-4(NASB)

Thank God for the Powerful Influences of Divine Grace

Thanksgiving 4.37 | ESV

For the powerful influences of divine grace to sanctify and preserve us, to prevent our falling into sin, and to strengthen us in doing our duty.

You have not put out the smoldering wick, nor broken off the battered reed, Matthew 12:20(NASB) nor despised the day of small things; Zechariah 4:10(NASB) but having obtained help from God, I stand to this day. Acts 26:22(NASB)

On the day I called, You answered me; and have made me bold with strength in my soul. Psalm 138:3(NASB)

I have been continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand, Psalm 73:23(NASB) when my feet came close to stumbling, and my steps had almost slipped. Psalm 73:2(NASB)

I have reason never to forget Your precepts, for by them You have revived me; and if Your law had not been my delight, then I would have perished in my affliction many a time; Psalm 119:92-93(NASB) for Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. Psalm 119:54(NASB)

If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence: But when I said, “My foot has slipped,” Your lovingkindness, O LORD, held me up; and when my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul. Psalm 94:17-19(NASB)

Thank God for the Remission of Sins and Peace of Conscience

Thanksgiving 4.36 | NASB

I must give thanks for the remission of my sins and the peace of my conscience.

I bless You for the redemption I have through Christ’s blood, the forgiveness of my trespasses, according to the riches of Your grace, which You have lavished on me. Ephesians 1:7-8(NASB)

That You have pardoned all my iniquities and healed all my diseases; Psalm 103:3(NASB) and it is You who have kept my soul from the pit of nothingness, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back. Isaiah 38:17(NASB)

When You brought me into the wilderness, there You spoke kindly to me, and gave me my vineyard from there, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope. Hosea 2:14-15(NASB)

Thank God for Every Spirit-Wrought Inward Change

Thanksgiving 4.35 | NASB

I must bless God if there is a saving change wrought in me by His blessed Spirit.

And has God by His grace transferred me from the domain of darkness to the kingdom of His beloved Son? Colossians 1:13(NASB) Has He called me into fellowship with Jesus Christ, 1 Corinthians 1:9(NASB) and brought me near by His blood, who by nature was far off? Ephesians 2:13(NASB) Not to myself, O LORD, not to myself, but to Your name I give glory. Psalm 115:1(NASB)

I give thanks to God always for those to whom the gospel has come not in word only, but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. 1 Thessalonians 1:5(NASB)

You have loved me with an everlasting love; therefore you have drawn me with lovingkindness. Jeremiah 31:3(NASB) You have led me with cords of a man, with bonds of love. Hosea 11:4(NASB)

When the strong man, fully armed, guarded his palace in my heart, and his possessions were undisturbed, someone stronger than he attacked him and took away his armor on which he had relied and distributed the plunder. Luke 11:21-22(NASB)

Thank God for the Hope of Eternal Life and for the Work of the Spirit within you

Thanksgiving 4.34 | NASB

For the prospect and hope of eternal life, when time shall be no more.

I thank You for the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him; James 1:12(NASB) the inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and that will not fade away, reserved in heaven for me. 1 Peter 1:4(NASB)

That having here no lasting city, Hebrews 13:14(NASB) I am encouraged to seek the better country, that is, the heavenly one; Hebrews 11:16(NASB) the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Hebrews 11:10(NASB)

That I am in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, has promised; Titus 1:2(NASB) and that all true believers, through grace, Acts 18:27(NASB) have eternal life abiding in them. 1 John 3:15(NASB)

2dly, I must give God thanks for the spiritual mercies bestowed upon me in particular, especially if I am called with an effectual call and have a good work of grace begun in me.

I must bless God for the striving of His Spirit with me, and the admonitions and checks of my own conscience.

I bless You that You have not given me over to a depraved mind; Romans 1:28(NASB) that my conscience is not seared; 1 Timothy 4:2(NASB) that You have not said concerning me, “He is joined to idols, let him alone”; Hosea 4:17(NASB) but that Your Spirit is still striving with me. Genesis 6:3(NASB)

I thank You for the work of the Law written in my heart, my own conscience also bearing witness, and my own thoughts alternately accusing or else defending me. Romans 2:15(NASB)
