Herein indeed God shows his love to us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, Romans 5:8(ESV) that we might be reconciled to him by the death of his Son. Romans 5:10(ESV) In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins, 1 John 4:10(ESV) and not for ours only but for the sins of the whole world; 1 John 2:2(ESV) that he tasted death for everyone, Hebrews 2:9(ESV) that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil.
